Joliet Junior College Spring 2025 Construction Layout class is secured!
While it’s a great feeling to finish grading exams & assignments, shelve the handouts and field training exercises and see the class get over the finish line, closing the chapter on the friendships built in the classroom at the end of a semester is always bittersweet.
Watching 12 young construction professionals develop themselves under your tutelage is an honorable yet humbling experience.
While teaching often-times feels like an outward-bound activity, I get as much benefit from being in the classroom as the students do – They make me better.
A better teacher. Better engineer. Better mentor.
A better professional.
My thanks to the crew for showing up every Saturday morning, for being willing to try new things & make mistakes, and for putting in the work.
I won’t be there when it happens, but I look forward to the day when a project superintendent needs an elevation transferred from a bench mark, and you simply reply, “No sweat, Boss – I’ll take care of it.”
